Giants’ Jabrill Peppers, Redskins’ Landon Collins involved in post-game skirmish

New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers, whom the team acquired in an offseason trade with the Cleveland Browns, and Washington Redskins safety Landon Collins, whom the team allowed to walk in free agency, had an interesting exchange following Sunday’s Week 4 game.

Moments after the Giants secured a 24-3 victory, bringing them to .500 on the season, Peppers and Collins came face-to-face.

Turns out, they weren’t interested in swapping jerseys.

Rather, Peppers and Collins got into a visibly heated exchange, which was the most emotion or effort the latter showed all day.

As the skirmish was broken up, it became apparent that Collins and Peppers weren’t the only two involved. To no one’s surprise, Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was also involved.

As tempers cooled and the Giants hit the locker room to celebrate, Peppers dismissed the exchange as little more than post-game emotion.

“It’s just football,” Peppers told reporters. [I have the] utmost respect for those guys, especially Landon. It’s all love.”

Collins, meanwhile, refused to answer any questions about the dust-up.

“Next question,” Collins snapped before briefly adding, “I was happy for him, he had a good game, but for him to come start messing with me, that wasn’t the point.”

Given the hate consistently spewed from Collins and Norman, it seems only fitting that those two were unable to handle the loss with class. After all, how could they stand to face the reality that Dave Gettleman may have been right about both?

The Giants and Redskins will meet again in Week 16.
