Giants’ Jabrill Peppers offers explosive take on Cowboys’ trash talk

Throughout Sunday’s Week 2 destruction of the New York Giants, several Dallas Cowboys players were caught on a live mic and on film trash talking Big Blue and their young secondary, which was being embarrassingly exposed.

For some, the content came off as vulgar, disrespectful and arrogant. But for Giants safety Jabrill Peppers, it came off as something that was completely warranted in the moment.

“Man, they were kicking our [expletive],” Peppers told NJ Advance Media. “That bothered me more than anything they could ever say to me. You know what I mean? If we were kicking their [expletive], we’d be talking [expletive] to. That just comes with the territory.”

Peppers was among a group of defensive backs who were repeatedly picked on in Dallas — a group that literally couldn’t stop anything.

Somehow we’re sure that’s Eli Manning’s fault, but that’s an argument for another day.

Anyway, Peppers downplayed the nature of the beating while still acknowledging that it happened, suggesting the Cowboys didn’t do anything special, which should concern Giants fans more than if Dallas had beaten the Giants with unique looks and personnel.

“I don’t think they did anything spectacular to beat us,” Peppers said. “You know what I mean? I think we gave up a lot of big plays because of blown coverages. Aside from the fade ball, and a couple dig routes, everything else I feel like we gave them. But when things are clicking you for, you can say whatever you want to say.”

The silver lining? Peppers and the Giants will have a chance for revenge in Week 9.

“The beauty of it is we get to see those guys again,” Peppers said.
