Giants invite James O’Hagan, Trevor Morris to local Pro Day

The New York Giants will be in the market at a number of positions come April’s NFL Draft. Accordingly, with 12 picks in tow, they’ll want to gather as much information on as many prospects as possible.

The Giants have invited both center James O’Hagan (Buffalo) and linebacker Trevor Morris (Rutgers) to their local Pro Day — prospects from two positions in which they have an arguable need.

Morris grew up in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and is trying to go pro after his junior year. O’Hagan is originally from Seaford, New York and started all 12 games in 2017 where he was named All-MAC Third Team. During that year, Buffalo set a school record for yards on offense.

The Giants, of course, have been rumored to be in the market for a quarterback, which may require one or both (if they were to trade up) of their first round picks in the upcoming draft this April.

The Giants may be looking for hidden gems in the later rounds or even to sign undrafted free agents to fill out their roster.

The last time the Giants drafted someone out of Rutgers was in 1960 when they took Bob Simms in the 10th round. And for what it’s worth, the Giants have never selected a player out of Buffalo.

It’s no secret the Giants have been connected to local names. In the Odell Beckham trade, Big Blue received saftey Jabrill Peppers, a New Jersey native. Meanwhile, leading up to the draft, the Giants have already been connected to Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins who also has New Jersey roots.

Only general manager Dave Gettleman knows what his plan in, but don’t be surprised if the Giants end up with some local rookies on the roster come training camp.
