Giants injury update: Saquon Barkley headed for MRI, may miss weeks

The New York Giants may have won their first game of the season and the first game of the Daniel Jones era, but it likely came with a high price.

Running back Saquon Barkley was knocked out of the game with a high ankle sprain in the second quarter and could miss significant time.

Barkley was struggling on the ground in this game, rushing for just 10 yards on eight carries. He was injured catching a pass along the sideline, getting his ankle landed on by Bucs safety Mike Edwards.

Inside linebacker Alec Ogletree was forced from the game after tweaking his hamstring in the second quarter returning what everyone believed to be a Jameis Winston fumble. The play was ruled an incomplete pass but that didn’t help Ogletree who had to leave the game.

Ogletree was relieved by Tae Davis, who himself left the game with a concussion.
