Giants injury report: Saquon Barkley, Evan Ingram practice fully Wednesday

The New York Giants released their first official injury report of the week for Week 7 as they prepare for the Arizona Cardinals. It appears that running back Saquon Barkley will be back in the lineup on Sunday. He, as well as tight end Evan Engram, were both full participants in practice on Wednesday.

Barkley has been out since he suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 3. Fully participating early in the week bodes well for the Giants.

Engram was held out of the Giants’ game last week on Thursday against the New England Patriots with a knee injury. It would appear he will be on the field on Sunday against a Cardinals defense that has struggled to stop tight ends.

In terms of players who missed at least some practice time, the Giants’ injury report was short.

Did not practice

  • CB Corey Ballentine (concussion)

He was the only player to sit out. Ballentine has only played 10 defensive snaps this year. He has been a core special teams player for New York.

Limited

  • RB Wayne Gallman (concussion)
  • DL Olsen Pierre (concussion)
  • WR Sterling Shepard (concussion)

Gallman missed last week’s game. He is still in the league’s concussion protocol. However, practicing on a limited basis means he is headed in the right direction. Pierre suffered his concussion in the game against the Patriots. Shepard has missed two weeks so far with his concussion.
