Giants injury report: Olsen Pierre, Alec Ogletree among those not practicing

The New York Giants returned to practice ahead of their Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins on Wednesday and it was immediately apparent that injuries are becoming a concerning issue.

As anticipated, running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) was not on the field as he seeks a second opinion on his injury and recovery.

Additionally, wide receiver Russell Shepard (foot), linebackers Tae Davis (concussion) and Alec Ogletree (hamstring) and defensive lineman Olsen Pierre (knee) were not participating during the portion of practice open to the media.

Shepard’s injury is significant in that he was the last Giants wide receiver to miss time with an injury dating back to the preseason. Now, every single one of them has missed at least one practice.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Cody Latimer (concussion) made some progress, but was still limited and resigned to the yellow non-contact jersey.

Here’s the full injury report via the Giants:

Did not participate: Saquon Barkley, Alec Ogletree, Tae Davis, Russell Shepard and Olsen Pierre

Limited participation: Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler and Lorenzo Carter

Full participation: Kevin Zeitler
