Giants injury report: Mike Remmers returns to practice

One day after missing practice and sounding the alarms, New York Giants right tackle Mike Remmers was back on the field and participating with his teammates on Thursday.

That didn’t come without a caveat, however.

During the open locker room portion of the day, Remmers walked in and noticed the media spread throughout, quickly turning around and leaving without so much as a word.

As the team left the field house prior to practice, head coach Pat Shurmur assured onlookers that Remmers would be ready to go Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, adding that his Wednesday absence had more to do with an illness than his back, which was operated on earlier this offseason.

Meanwhile, rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) and tight end Garrett Dickerson (quad) were sidelined for the second consecutive day. Neither are expected to play in Week 1.

Below is the full injury report:

Did not practice: TE Garrett Dickerson (quad), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring)

Limited participation: OT Mike Remmers (illness/back)

Full participation: CB Antonio Hamilton (adductor), LB Nate Stupar (concussion)
