Giants injury report: Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer sit out

The New York Giants received some positive news on Thursday as wide receivers Sterling Shepard (concussion) and Darius Slayton (groin/hamstring) made strides in their respective recoveries.

Unfortunately for these Giants, it’s always two steps ahead and one step back.

While the team was encouraged by the progress of both Shepard and Slayton, that excitement was tempered due to veteran wide receiver Cody Latimer remaining in concussion protocol and wide receiver Bennie Fowler sitting out because of a hamstring tweak suffered on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, cornerback Grant Haley, who missed Wednesday’s practice due to an illness, was back on the field. Right guard Kevin Zeitler (shoulder) was also participating in the portion of practice open to the media.

Here’s a look at the full injury report courtesy of the Giants:

Did not practice: WR Bennie Fowler (hamstring), WR Cody Latimer (concussion)

Limited participation: WR Darius Slayton (hamstring)

Full participation: WR Sterling Shepard (concussion), TE Garrett Dickerson (quad), CB Grant Haley (illness), G Kevin Zeitler (shoulder)
