Giants host DB Adrian Colbert for a visit

The New York Giants are depleted due to injury and illness (both COVID-19 and the flu), especially in their secondary. They are currently without a number of players and scrambling to find reinforcements.

As part of that scramble, the Giants hosted free agent defensive back Adrian Colbert for a visit on Friday.

A seventh-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2017 NFL draft, Colbert has become quite the journeyman. In fact, he’s even a familiar face to the Giants, having spent the 2020 season in East Rutherford.

In addition to his time with the 49ers (2017-2018) and Giants (2020), Colbert has also had stints with the Seattle Seahawks (2019), Miami Dolphins (2019), Kansas City Chiefs (2020), New England Patriots (2021) and New York Jets (2021).

Colbert was most recently with the Jets, who released him in late October.

In 37 career games (22 starts), the 28-year-old Colbert has recorded 109 tackles (84 solo, one for a loss), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and eight passes defensed.

Per the NFL’s transaction wire, Colbert was not immediately signed.
