Giants hire ex-Lions VP of player personnel Kyle O’Brien as a senior personnel executive

Kyle O’Brien didn’t have to wait long to find a new job. Just a couple of days after being let go by the Detroit Lions, O’Brien has been hired by the New York Giants as that team’s senior personnel executive.

O’Brien was the Lions vice president of player personnel from 2018-2020, having also served as a director of player personnel for the two prior seasons. Before coming to Detroit, O’Brien was the director of collegiate scouting for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was one of the primary decision-makers on college prospects in Detroit,

The Giants created the position specifically for O’Brien, who will serve under GM Dave Gettleman.
