Giants great Eli Manning to be inducted into N.J. Hall of Fame

As New York Giants legend Eli Manning awaits eligibility for his inevitable induction into Canton, he’s being honored in a different kind of Hall of Fame.

According to Amy Kuperinsky of NJ.com, Manning will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, along with 28 others. Manning made the cut from the list of 50 nominees, which was announced back in June.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony will be held in a virtual format this year. It will be pre-recorded and then aired on television, radio and social media on October 18.

Among the inductees are Oscar-winning actress, Anne Hathaway, and gospel singer, Cissy Houston. Legendary Rutgers women’s basketball coach, C. Vivian String, and actor Ed Harris, will also be honored.

After a 2019 season in which the Giants passed the torch to Daniel Jones at quarterback, Manning hung up his cleats for good.

Manning spent his entire 16-year career with the Giants, where he compiled a list of accomplishments, including a pair of Super Bowl titles. He is easily one of the greatest players in franchise history.

He was also a model citizen and role model during his time in the NFL, and made countless contributions off the field through charitable work.
