Giants give Odell Beckham Jr.’s No. 13 to UDFA

Odell, we hardly knew ya. Can’t wait to forget you.

The New York Giants wasted no time in passing on Odell Beckham Jr.’s No. 13 jersey to another player … and one could say just any other player.

At the team’s mini-camp, undrafted free agent Reggie White Jr., not the son of the former Eagles, Packers and Panthers great, donned the jersey with Beckham’s former number.

I know who wore it, like, I knew I was gonna get the backlash of the Odell. He’s a hell of player. All the credit goes to him,” White said Saturday.

“… Thirteen’s just the number they gave me. I didn’t ask anybody for the number. I was just happy to have a jersey. Doesn’t matter if it was 13, 00, it didn’t matter. Just as long as I’m a New York Giant and I’m able to go out there and compete on the field. The rest doesn’t matter.”

White was voted a third-team All-American by the Associated Press as a fifth-year senior in 2018. He is the all-time leader in receptions (249) and receiving yardage (3,471) for both Monmouth and the Big South Conference.

Beckham, meanwhile, plays for the Cleveland Browns. After a roller-coaster time in New York, Big Blue dealt him to the AFC North team in the off-season.
