Giants forge partnership with Oakley

This past Monday, Oakley announced a four-year partnership with the NFL. The partnership makes them an on-field partner and licensee of the NFL, and is the biggest deal in Oakley’s history. All 32 NFL teams will be provided with Oakley shields and eyewear, and there will be officially licensed NFL eyewear available for fans.

To celebrate the partnership, Oakley took over Times Square on the evening of August 26. After the billboards went dark and Oakley ran their impressive visual, they invited New York Giants linebackers Alec Ogletree and Lorenzo Carter to the stage to announce their additional partnership with the G-men.

“The Oakley brand started in stadiums and now we will continue our brand journey inside the biggest and most relevant stadiums in North America, the football stadium,” said Gwen Van Lingen, Vice President of Sports Marketing for Oakley. “We are thrilled to partner with the National Football League and its players and personnel to help push the boundaries of performance and help them see the game differently through Prizm.”

Oakley is a leader in optical innovations for athletes of all levels and have produced football shields for helmets for more than 20 years. Their Prizm technology has a slight color tint that is designed to aid in detail recognition in the football environment and is at the forefront of football gear.

On top of the shields that the players will have the option to wear, Oakley will also produce special-edition NFL eyewear for Giants fans who wish to represent their team. The gear can be customized with the Oakley Custom Program to have the logo and preferred colors incorporated into select frames.

Besides being an on-field partner of the NFL, the Giants have one of three NFL team partnerships with Oakley, who’s goal is to expand within the sport.

Welcome to the family, Oakley.
