Giants favored in just four games ahead of 2019 season

Since the end of the 2017-2018 season, the New York Giants roster has faced an extreme overhaul. After parting ways with Jason Pierre-Paul, Eli Apple, Damon Harrison, Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon and Landon Collins, there aren’t many who expect the Giants to be competitive going into the 2019 campaign.

The odds are already out for all of the Giants’ opponents in 2019 and Big Blue are only favored in four games as of right now.

According to Fan Duel, the Giants are currently favorites against the Bills (-2.5), Redskins (-3), Cardinals (-5) and Dolphins (-5.5). All four of the games the Giants play at home and typically home field advantage is worth three points itself.

There is no doubt the Giants are in one of the tougher divisions in the NFL and for the most part, anytime Big Blue plays one of its division rivals the spread is usually somewhere around three or less.

The Giants will open in Dallas this year and the spread for the opener is 7 with the Cowboys as the favorite. It’s telling to see that Vegas thinks that the Cowboys are a whole touchdown better than the Giants when they travel to Dallas in September.

The Giants’ biggest early spread comes when they travel to New England to take on the Patriots on Thursday Night Football where Big Blue is a 10-point underdog. Another game that everyone has marked on their calendars is the game against the Jets on November 10th where the Giants are 2.5-point underdogs.

The Giants have a tough road going into the season and many don’t expect Big Blue to make much noise in 2019. Fans will hope that the Giants can prove the doubters wrong on the shoulders of Saquon Barkley and Eli Manning.
