The New York Giants selected Penn State linebacker Cameron Brown with the 183rd pick int he sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Here are five things to know about Brown:

Size and combine numbers
Brown (6’5″, 235), a senior, ran a 4.72 40 at the NFL Combine in February and had a vertical jump of 35.5 inches.

All-Big Ten Third Team
In 2019, Brown started all 13 games raking up 72 tackles (5.5 for loss) with two sacks and four pass breakups. He was named to All-Big Ten third-team.

Betting on athleticism
Brown is the 142nd ranked player on Pro Football Focus’ big board and is the 11th-ranked linebacker.
With Brown, you’re betting on his athletic traits translating at the next level, and that’s not a bad bet considering how fluid he is at his size.

Worked with Coach Chaos
Brown is another player the Giants’ coaching staff is familiar with. Giants’ defensive line coach and run-game coordinator Sean “Coach Chaos” Spencer was Penn State’s D-line coach form 2014-2019.

Someone to cover tight ends?
Brown has been described as “a long athlete who can disrupt in pass coverage, which will play to his advantage with the NFL becoming an increasingly pass-heavy league. He was used in that role at Penn State where he used his athleticism to attack downhill in the run game and stay with tight ends and running backs in the passing game.”
