New York Giants rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton is not practicing on Monday after tweaking a hamstring. It is the second time Slayton has been sidelined this training camp with a hamstring issue. He played in last week’s 25-23 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, catching one of two targets for 27 yards.
Also not practicing were defensive back Kenny Ladler (hamstring) and tight end Garrett Dickerson (quad), the latter of whom played well last week. Running back Rod Smith (adductor) and cornerback Antonio Hamilton (groin) were also on the side.
Cornerback Sam Beal (hamstring), who needs to get going this week, is still not practicing in team drills. Rookies Deandre Baker and Corey Ballentine continue to split the first team reps at corner.
Rookie offensive tackle George Asafo-Adjei (concussion) remains out and it seems more and more likely that he will end up on injured reserve when the Giants cut their 53-man roster this coming Saturday.
