Giants’ Daniel Jones not cleared, unlikely to play vs. Cowboys

It looks like the New York Giants will be without their starting quarterback for at least another week.

Daniel Jones went with head athletic trainer Ronnie Barnes to visit another neck specialist on Monday and was not cleared for contact. That means he will remain limited in practice and is highly unlikely to play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15.

Jones had previously seen a specialist in Los Angeles before reuniting with the team in Arizona when they were preparing to face the Los Angeles Chargers. After the Giants lost on Sunday, Jones head back East to get a third opinion and evaluation on the neck.

With the neck situation certainly not any closer to being resolved, it’s another week of Mike Glennon as the starter with Jake Fromm as the backup.

At this rate, with the Giants at 4-9, in last place and likely no chance of making any form of a playoff run, the team should just shut Jones down for the season — especially if the New York Post report of “structural damage” is accurate.
