Giants’ Daniel Jones, Blake Martinez questionable vs. Cardinals

The New York Giants took the field for their final open practice of the week on Friday and once again, all eyes befell second-year quarterback Daniel Jones, who is nursing a hamstring injury.

For the second consecutive day, Jones took first-team reps during the portion of practice open to the media and looked good, but not quite 100%.

Head coach Joe Judge said he remains “fairly optimistic” Jones will play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

“I’m fairly optimistic,” Judge told reporters, “but at the same time, there’s a ways to go.”

Judge also expressed an optimism that linebacker Blake Martinez (back) could play in Week 14. But after limited participation on Thursday, Martinez was not seen during the media portion of practice on Friday.

Both Jones and Martinez were officially listed as questionable.

After two days of taking limited reps during practice, rookie cornerback Darnay Holmes did not practice on Friday due to a knee injury. Meanwhile, rookie offensive lineman Matt Peart was once again limited with an ankle injury.

Similar to Jones and Martinez, both Holmes and Peart are listed as questionable.

Defensive back Madre Harper, who did not practice this week with a knee injury, has been placed on injured reserve. He will miss at least three games.
