Victor Cruz said his ankle injury is "not bad" and that there is a chance he can play on Monday night against the Bengals.
"We'll take it day-by-day," Cruz said in a WFAN radio interview on Tuesday. "We'll see how it feels (at practice on Wednesday), we'll see how it feels the day after that. I'll listen to the training staff. But we'll see. The doctors are optimistic, so we'll take it from there."
Cruz confirmed a report that he has a low-grade sprain which he suffered while making a 46-yard reception in Sunday's win over the Eagles. He did not return to the game, had X-rays on Sunday, and an MRI on Monday. He said there was no swelling or discoloration on Monday.
"I have to stay on top of it," he said. "It is a little sore today, I'm not going to lie. But it's optimistic. Everything looks like it's going in the right direction. I just have to get through the week, get through some good days of treatment and see how it feels."
