Giants-Cowboys Week 9: Offense, defense and special teams snap counts

The New York Giants fell to 2-7 on the season following a 37-18 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Monday night — their fifth consecutive loss and their second to Dallas this season.

Here’s a look at the snap counts that contributed to yet another in a long line of losses for New York’s team.

Offensive snaps: 72
Defensive snaps: 71
Special teams snaps: 31

Offensively, very little stands out for the Giants in Week 9. Up and down the board, the snap counts are about what you’d expect for these players at this point in the season. The lack of production from Darius Slayton despite nearly 70 snaps is a tad concerning, but he’s a rookie and going through his growing pains as well.

Defensively, we see that B.J. Hill’s snap count got reduced to just 25% due to the presence of Leonard Williams, who took 66% of the defensive snaps in his debut. Additionally, rookie cornerback Corey Ballentine finally got in on the defensive action, logging 55 snaps and playing relatively well all things considered.
