Giants continue USA TODAY power rankings free fall

The New York Giants have lost three straight games and have fallen to 5-10 on the season, which is far from what anyone wanted to see out of head coach Joe Judge in his first season.

For a brief and fleeting moment, the Giants looked like legitimate competitors, but a razor thin roster has cost them dearly here in December. Remarkably however, they are still alive and could win the NFC East in Week 17, but that’s a topic for another time.

As a result of New York’s 27-13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, they continued to slide in the USA TODAY power rankings, this time dropping three spots to No. 27 overall.

27. Giants (24): Outmanned all season, the G-Men were almost unfailingly competitive through November. But they’ve lost their last three games by 47 points.

Comparatively, the Philadelphia Eagles fell three spots to No. 26 overall, the Dallas Cowboys rose three spots to No. 23 overall and the Washington Football Team fell seven spots to No. 22 overall.

Yes, you read that correctly, Nate Davis has the Giants as the worst team in the division.

The Kansas City Chiefs remain at the top of the heap at No. 1 overall, while the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to take up residence at No. 32 overall.
