Giants continue to drop in latest USA TODAY power rankings

The New York Giants were riding high after an upset of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13, but the wheels have come off the bus over the previous two games — losses to the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals.

Unsurprisingly, that has led to a sharp decline for the Giants in the USA TODAY power rankings, which was a trend that continued on Tuesday.

After an ugly 20-6 loss against the Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, the Giants dropped two spots from No. 22 overall to No. 24 overall.

24. Giants (22): They’re averaging 12.3 points in four games since their Week 11 bye … bad even by NFC East standards.

Comparatively, the Dallas Cowboys rose two spots to No. 26 overall, the Philadelphia Eagles fell two spots to No. 23 overall and the Washington Football Team stayed in place at No. 15 overall.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, meanwhile, finally wrestled last place away from the New York Jets, who picked up their first win of the season over the Los Angeles Rams.

Unsurprisingly, the red-hot Kansas City Chiefs remain atop the league, sitting at No. 1 overall.
