Giants’ Cody Latimer returns to Ohio to help tornado victims

New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer received permission from the team to leave practice so he could be of assistance in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio, which was hit by 13 tornadoes this week.

Latimer attended Jefferson High School in Ohio. He is in his second season with Big Blue after spending four with the Denver Broncos.

The Dayton Daily News reported Latimer flew into town Tuesday night, and was feeding some storm victims on Wednesday, thanks to a partnership with a local pizza place.

Latimer’s priority is to help single mothers affected by the tornadoes, the paper reports. Latimer and his brother were raised by a single mother after his father died in 2005 of cancer.
