Giants’ Cody Latimer, Kevin Zeitler suffered injuries in loss to Bills

The New York Giants fell to the Buffalo Bills, 28-14, on Sunday afternoon, but that’s not the only loss they suffered.

After making it through the preseason relatively clean, the Giants have been bitten hard by the injury bug over the previous seven days (two games).

On Sunday, Cody Latimer was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter after suffering blow to the head on a helmet-to-helmet making a key catch in the red zone. Again, there was no flag thrown.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler fought through a shoulder ailment all game. But like the warrior he is, stayed in the game.

Zeitler had previously dealt with a shoulder issue, so that will be worth monitoring this coming week. Meanwhile, as Sterling Shepard continues to overcome a concussion, it would be fair to expect Latimer to miss a Week 3 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head coach Pat Shurmur wasn’t asked about any of the injuries following the game, so we’ll have to wait for his Monday conference call for additional clarity.
