The New York Giants could only sit back and watch in disgust Sunday night as the Eagles turned to their rarely used backup QB Nate Sudfeld in a 3-point game to help them lose to the Washington Football Team and secure the No. 6 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Giants, of course, needed the Eagles to beat Washington to keep their season alive and face the Bucs in the playoffs. Instead, Washington, with its 20-14 victory, won the NFC East and will host a playoff game this Saturday night.
Giants players were fuming on Twitter during the game Sunday night. Lots of NFL fans joined them, as well.
On Monday, Giants head coach Joe Judge very calmly explained why he would never basically give up a game the way the Eagles did, especially in a very difficult season like this one.

I’m no Giants fan but that was pretty darn good.
He also spoke about how his team had 16 chances to have a different fate and their 6-10 season is on them:
"We had 16 opportunities this year. That's it."
