Giants climb out of last place in latest USA TODAY power rankings

A week ago, the New York Giants hit rock bottom in the USA TODAY power rankings, checking in at No. 32 — dead last — for the first time this year.

However, despite yet another loss in Week 14, this one coming in overtime against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants actually managed to gain a spot and climb out of the league’s basement, checking in at No. 31 overall, in the latest USA TODAY power rankings.

Eli Manning’s career record fell to 116-117 after valiant effort Monday. Here’s hoping he wins next two.

Comparatively, the Washington Redskins rose one spot to No. 25 overall and the Philadelphia Eagles rose two spots to No. 17 overall, while the Dallas Cowboys fell one spot to No. 16 overall.

The New York Jets remained in place at No. 21 overall.

The Cincinnati Bengals were the team that fell one spot to No. 32 overall, saving the Giants from that label, while the Baltimore Ravens remain in place at No. 1 overall.
