Giants-Bengals preseason Week 3: Offense, defense and special teams snap counts

The New York Giants defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 25-23, on Thursday night in Week 3 of the preseason, improving their exhibition record to 3-0 with one game remaining.

The game itself was sloppy from start to finish, but the Giants once again showed resiliency and came out on top. But who helped the team get there?

Here’s a quick breakdown of Thursday’s snap counts, which were admittedly stranger than expected.

Eli Penny continues to see a very limited number of snaps and it’s difficult to interpret what exactly that means. However, the signs are clearer for center James O’Hagan, who didn’t find his way onto the field at all on Thursday night.

Jake Carlock also saw a decrease in snaps, which could mean his spot on the 53-man roster is up in the air.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Kyle Lauletta saw the most snaps of any quarterback. The Giants face a tough decision on him — he’s played well enough to keep, but do they want two inexperienced quarterbacks backing Eli Manning up?
