Giants attempted to claim LB Tanner Vallejo

With the NFL waiver system heating up, teams around the league are on high alert seeking talent and depth on the waiver wire.

The New York Giants were reportedly one of the teams to put in a claim on recently released Cleveland Browns linebacker Tanner Vallejo.

Vallejo was claimed by the Arizona Cardinals, who finished 3-13 in 2018, and are at the top of league waiver wire from this week until the fourth week of the NFL regular season. The Giants, who finished 5-11, are the sixth spot.

Vallejo, 24 (6’1″, 230), was a sixth-round selection out of Nevada Union by the Buffalo Bills in 2017 but was waived/injured (knee) after one season. He was signed by the Browns last year. playing in 13 games before landing on season-ending IR with a hamstring injury.

Not sure what he would bring to the Giants, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Since they have such a high slot on the wire, they may as well go all in on every available player.
