Giants are now 6.5-point road underdogs vs. Lions

When the line opened up ahead of the New York Giants’ Week 8 game in Detroit against the Lions, they were listed as seven-point road underdogs. As the week has progressed, there hasn’t been much movement on the spread.

According to BetMGM, the Giants are now 6.5-point road underdogs as they look ahead to Sunday. The over/under (originally 48.5) is now set at 49.5. With the spread moving slightly in the Giants’ direction the money line also went down to +220 (-278 for the Lions.)

It has already been reported that Giants top wide receiver Sterling Shepard is unlikely to play. Golden Tate will be the team’s top receiver as he goes up against his former team. The Giants will also be going up against a few former teammates including Romeo Okwara, Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison, Devon Kennard and Paul Perkins, who was just added to Detroit’s 53-man roster.

Harrison will have a tough task trying to slow down Saquon Barkley, who will look to be stronger than last week as it was his first game back from injury.

The Giants are on a three-game losing streak following their back-to-back wins to start the Daniel Jones era. Hopefully they can get back to their winning ways this weekend against the Lions, but if the spread is any indication of how Sunday is expect to go, the Giants may have an uphill battle.
