Giants announce 2019 preseason opponents

The New York Giants officially announced their 2019 preseason opponents on Tuesday afternoon, and as expected, there will be some familiar matchups.

In addition to the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals, who are relatively unfamiliar foes, the Giants will also square off with the New York Jets and New England Patriots as part of their annual exhibition schedule.

The Giants will open the preseason at home against the Jets in what’s been dubbed both The Snoopy Bowl and, more recently, The MetLife Bowl sometime between August 8-12.

In Week 2 of the preseason, the Giants will remain at MetLife Stadium when they host the Bears between August 15-19. After that, Big Blue will hit the road.

Between August 22-25 the Giants will travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals before closing out their preseason between August 29-30 against the Patriots.

None of the Giants’ four preseason games will be nationally televised.

Three of the Giants four preseason opponents will also be regular season opponents, including the Patriots, who many have speculated would play the Giants in Week 1. That now seems unlikely.

The only preseason opponent the Giants won’t play in the regular season are the Bengals, who will host Big Blue in 2020.
