Giants’ Adoree’ Jackson: Entire organization feels ’embarrassed’

The New York Giants are reeling from their devastating 40-0 defeat on Sunday Night Football at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys.

Veteran players are scrambling for answers on why they were so vastly underprepared and outplayed after completing what was thought to be one of their most competitive training camps in years.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott only completed 13 passes on the night for 143 yards. Dallas only had 265 yards of total offense in the game. The defense wasn’t the problem, but they weren’t the solution, either.

Giants cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, who played in the slot on most snaps is, like everyone else, still searching for answers. The biggest question is: what’s next?

“It was just embarrassing. I know we all felt that, whether it was us as players, the coaches, the staff, the organization,” Jackson told reporters on Monday. “It’s just one of those things where you go watch the film and get those corrections and figure out how to improve and how to get better, and just be better in general. Just learn from those mistakes, and just keep pushing forward. It’s always about putting the next foot in front of the other.”

With 16 games remaining, there’s a lot of football to be played. Right now, they are 0-1 and can even the ledger with a win in Arizona. But first, they must regroup and refocus.

“It’s all about learning from mistakes,” said Jackson. “We talked about not being a repeat offender in this league and in this game. Just coming into work, pushing each other to be better, pushing each other to get your best and give your best, so things can be a different outcome.”

The Giants better learn quickly because Sunday’s game against the Cardinals is now a must-win with the San Francisco 49ers looming in Week 3.
