Giants add shot put champion to roster, waive three

The New York Giants are compiling a diverse group of athletes these days. The latest addition to their 2019 roster is Austin Droogsma, a 6-foot-4, 345 pound shot put champion from Florida State who they will play at guard.

To make room for Droogsma, and potentially some of their unsigned draftees, the Giants waived linebacker Ukeme Eligwe, defensive end Myles Humphrey, and defensive back Michael Hunter.

The team confirmed all of the transactions on Monday afternoon.

There’s not a whole lot to say here until we see Droogsma line up in pads. He hasn’t played football since high school and one would have to believe he’s a long shot to make the roster.

Here’s a feature FSU did on Droogsma a year ago.
