Giant puppet brings Tohoku beat to Tokyo streets

A giant puppet named Mocco dances to music as puppeteers control its colorful arms, legs and eyes during an event at the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo on Saturday ahead of the Tokyo Games. The 10-meter-tall puppet was designed by children in the Tohoku region, as part of a project to convey an upbeat message to the world and symbolize the resilience of people in areas affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
