Giant inflatable theme park set to open in Derby city centre bringing new jobs

A date has been set for the opening of a giant inflatable theme park in Derby city centre, which will create more than 50 new jobs.

Jumpin Inflatable Fun, which will feature 18,000 sq ft of slides, tunnels and ball pits, is set to open in Siddals Road on August 10.

The unit it is taking over was formerly home to a trampoline park called Bounce Revolution, which closed in December.

However, following a deal brokered by commercial property agents Salloway Property Consultants, work has been taking place over the past few weeks to convert the building into the new venture.

The park will be modelled on Jumpin’s first venture in Burgess Hill, Sussex, which has already attracted 250,000 people since opening last year.

It will have dedicated sessions for toddlers and children with special education needs, as well as parties, groups and adult nights.

The park will also feature its own café, a viewing gallery and individual party rooms.

Jumpin Inflatable Fun will employ a range of staff, from management to marshals, café assistants and party hosts and will be open seven days a week.

It will be the company’s third indoor theme park following the success of those in Sussex and Salisbury.

Operations manager Casey Ruse said: “The concept is exciting and adds to the wealth of things to do in Derby.

“It is the perfect entertainment for families, promoting health, wellbeing and quality family time – encouraging all ages to get active while having fun.”

Hugo Beresford, surveyor at Salloway Property Consultants, which acted on behalf of a London investor, said: “It has been great to be involved in a project which is designed at the people of Derby and their families having a good time.

“The Siddals Road site is perfectly situated in Derby city centre and has great transport connections, as well as being very close to the Intu Derby shopping centre.”
