Giant greeting of autumn at Tokyo botanical gardens

Huge plumes of swaying pampas grass greet visitors at the Jindai Botanical Gardens in Chofu, Tokyo, a sign of the arrival of autumn. Native to South America, the perennial plant known for its pale silver plumes can grow up to five meters in height. It can be viewed through early November. The number of visitors is restricted due to the pandemic, and reservations must be made.
