Giant fairground is back at The Trafford Centre and there's more reasons to hop there this Easter

A huge fairground is back at The Trafford Centre for the school holidays are there's even more reason to visit over the Easter weekend.

Spring Escape has seen the return of the popular Jungle River log flume, swings, fun house and loads more rides outside The Orient. Gandeys Circus is performing its brand new show Roar! inside the Big Top and there's a variety of food and drink, including the pop-up street food stall Oh My Glaze, co-founded by Scott Graham and Adam Thomas.

There are rides for children of all ages, from the milder tea cups and cars, to a pirate ship and Rock Rage, one for the thrill seekers who like being flung around and swung upside down. It's the latest event to take over the site and follows on from last year's Summer Social, Spookfest and Tinsel Town, which attracted thousands of visitors.

Now crowds have been flocking to experience the vintage fairground and circus once again and organisers are expecting even more families to turn out over the long Easter weekend when there's even more fun in store with character appearances.

Denver the T-Rex dinosaur will be there between 1pm and 6pm from April 15 to 17 and on Easter Monday Optimus Prime will be appearing between the same times. Tickets for circus show Roar, which features an international cast of over 30 artistes and live musicians, have also been selling fast but there are still seats available from £9.99.

Among the performers are The Gerlings, who not only brave the heights of the Wire, but also race their motorbikes around in the iron thunderdome in the centre of the circus ring at 45 miles an hour and the g-force of a fighter jet.

The event is running until April 24 - when they'll be free face painting offered - and you can book for a time slot for the fairground at either 12pm to 2pm, 2pm to 4pm, 4pm to 6pm, or 6pm to 9pm.

Entry to the fairground costs £3.30 and rides operate on a token system, costing £1 per token, and ranging from two to five tokens per ride. You can get 25 tokens for price of 20 by booking online.

Oh My Glaze, whose menu includes chicken wings, burgers, wraps, halloumi bites, Cajun fries, and its infamous hot sauces, is hosting a kick-off party on Saturday evening, April 16, when there'll be DJs, live music, dancers and flame throwers.
