Giant dinosaur sculpture transported from Auchencairn to Logan Botanic Gardens

A giant dinosaur was on its way to its new home on Wednesday.

The four metre high willow tyrannosaurus rex is the work of Auchencairn-based artist Trevor Leat who previously worked on the sculptures for the Wickerman Festival.

The sculpture was being taken to Logan Botanic Gardens at Portpatrick.

Trevor said: “Richard Baines is the curator and lives in Castle Douglas.

"They are having their 50th anniversary celebrations and he commissioned the sculpture to go in among their ferns.”
