Giannis Antetokounmpo status: Is Giannis playing in Game 5?

No NBA team has ever overturned a 3-0 series deficit in the playoffs, and the No. 1 seed Bucks may be without soon-to-be two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo on Tuesday as they try to stay alive against the Heat.

Antetokounmpo rolled his right ankle in the second quarter of Game 4 on Sunday, the same ankle he tweaked early on in Game 3.

Antetokounmpo remained in the game temporarily to shoot his free throws, but then left the court and was later ruled out for the second half. The Bucks rallied without their superstar on the floor, and survived in overtime to force a Game 5.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Antetokounmpo has not been ruled out for Game 5, which tips off at 6:30 p.m. Giannis was able to take part in a team walkthrough on Monday. We’ll update this post with the latest on Giannis’ status as game time approaches.

Via ESPN:

“Giannis is, like we’ve said, he’s just getting treatment around the clock, doing everything he can to make himself available. On the court, we walked through a couple defensive things, a couple offensive things, just kinda stationary in the half court; he was able to participate in that. But — I think it wasn’t much, so I wouldn’t read too much into that.”
