Giannis Antetokounmpo has more 3’s than Jayson Tatum in last 2 months

It’s no secret that Boston Celtics second-year forward Jayson Tatum has taken a bit of a step back from his rookie season.

While he’s averaging more points per game than his rookie season, his shooting percentages have fallen across the board and in March alone he’s only shooting 6-for-29 from three-point range. That comes after shooting 11-for-31 in February.

For those scoring at home, he’s made a total of 17 three-pointers in the past two months. Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has made 20 three-point attempts combined in the months of February and March.

This is something a little concerning for Celtics fans considering Antetokounmpo isn’t known for being a three-point shooter, as Tatum has the reputation of a shooter and knocked down 43.4 percent from deep in his rookie season.

Maybe Tatum is still adjusting to playing with Celtics superstar Kyrie Irving or perhaps it’s just a sophomore slump, which players are known to have. Nonetheless, Boston needs Tatum to bust out of this slump with the playoffs right around the corner.

As for the Celtics as a team, after the loss to the Sixers on Wednesday, their attention turns to the Charlotte Hornets for a 6:00 p.m. EST tip on Saturday.
