Gianluigi Donnarumma has not been named in Paris Saint-Germain’s travelling squad for the UEFA Super Cup in a boost for both Manchester United and Tottenham.

The Italian has represented PSG since 2021, but his stay at the Parc des Princes looks to be coming to a close.

He is entering the final year of his contract and is not set to extend his deal as the club usher him to the exit door.

As such, he will not travel with PSG to contest the UEFA Super Cup in a significant boost for Tottenham, who are looking to win a second European title of 2025.

He will be deputised in Udine by Lucas Chevalier, who signed from Lille last week. He is set to serve as the club’s No1 next season.

PSG have no interest in extending Donnarumma’s deal and would prefer to sell him this summer rather than allow him to leave for free next year, according to widespread reports.

The player, though, hopes to stay and fight for his place.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, concrete offers are expected imminently.

Man United are expected to take advantage of the situation as Ruben Amorim looks to upgrade from his current first-choice, the error-prone Andre Onana.

The Cameroon international was nursing a minor injury over the summer, but has returned to training ahead of next week’s Premier League opener at home to Arsenal.

He is backed up by Altay Bayindir and the long-serving Tom Heaton, now 39 years old.
