Gianfranco Zola delivers Callum Hudson-Odoi and N'Golo Kante injury update

Chelsea were dealt a blow during their 2-2 draw with Burnley as Callum Hudson-Odoi was forced off with what looked like a toe injury.

On a disappointing night for the Blues, they failed to take advantage of points dropped elsewhere in the race for the top four earlier in the weekend, and lost their 18 year-old starlet shortly before the break.

The Bayern Munich target was making a rare Premier League start for Maurizio Sarri's team and will be as disappointed as his manager at the way the evening panned out.

The England forward was replaced on the field by Pedro, and had to be assisted by the club's medical staff as he made his way down the tunnel to receive treatment.

Afterwards, Blues assistant boss Gianfranco Zola said: “It doesn’t look very good unfortunately. It’s a problem with his Achilles tendon. Tomorrow we'll know exactly what the problem is."

Sarri's night was further compounded by the loss of N'Golo Kante, who departed the game at half time with what appeared to be a back injury. The Croatian Mateo Kovacic took the Frenchman's place, though the injury is not thought to be serious.

It all added up to a hugely frustrating night for the hosts at Stamford Bridge, as Burnley fought back from 2-1 down in the first half to claim a point thanks to a goal from Ashley Barnes.

Chelsea player ratings from Burnley draw as Eden Hazard shines in poor Blues display

Earlier, Chelsea had taken the lead when Gonazalo Higuain had scored with a splendid strike which went in off the crossbar, after Kante had equalized Jeff Hendrick's brilliant early goal.

It leaves Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League, two points ahead of fifth-place Arsenal but having played a game more - circumstances that mean the Blues' Champions League fate is out of their own hands as the season enters its final month.
