David, 62, from Teeside, believes she’s the spirit of a prisoner who may have met a gruesome death. He said: “We were in cell four using investigation equipment, including a spirit box, which is like a modified radio that transmits spirits’ voices.
“We heard a woman’s voice saying, ‘Cell eight’. We rushed to . I was panning round with the camcorder and taking photos when I spotted the ghost. It was just staring at me through the camera. I was shocked.
"I said to the others in the team, ‘Look at this’.
“We were all standing there, looking at the ghost through the viewer. Everyone was gasping.It makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.”
Jail supervisor Duncan Rollo said: “We have investigation groups here most weekends and out of 10 they believe they have experienced paranormal activity.
