Andy Garcia, Michael K Williams and Cecily Strong have all been added to the cast of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot, the Wrap has learned.
The three join the film’s four main supernatural-crime fighters – Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon – and Chris Hemsworth, who plays the ladies’ hunky receptionist in the revamp.
Garcia has been cast as the mayor of New York City. Williams, of Boardwalk Empire and The Wire fame, joins the project, which is currently shooting in Boston, as a character named Hawkins. Strong, who is currently on a hiatus from Saturday Night Live, will play an unconfirmed character.
Other new cast members include Veep star Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan, the longtime morning anchor of New York City’s NY1, who will riff on his day job in the film as a news anchor.
