'Ghost' visits Scots tot as spooked parents spot objects on monitor that 'spins by itself'

This is the moment a 'ghost' visited a Scots newborn leaving his parents totally spooked.

Little Scott Thorrat was blissfully unaware of the alleged apparition that paid a visit to his home in Drongan, East Ayrshire on Saturday night.

It wasn't until his parents, Cheryl Scott and Robert Thorrat, looked back through baby monitor footage that they realised something strange had gone on.

Two eerie, floating objects appear next to the tot in his cot, before the baby monitor camera spins round, to face a light that Cheryl claims wasn't switched on.

An unnerved Cheryl, 39, told the Record: "I believe in ghosts but nothing like this has ever happened before.

"We can watch baby monitor videos on our phone, and we looked through Saturday night's clip on Tuesday night.

"We noticed the two floating objects that had never been there before.

"Then all of a sudden the camera spun right round, which never happens, it's fixed facing Scott.

"It turns to face a light that we didn't switch on.

"It's as if you can see a hand waving between the chest of drawers and the cot.

"I definitely think a ghost visited.

"Robert didn't believe in ghosts but now he's not so sure."

The family moved into their current home with Scott's big sisters, 18-year-old Alysha and Imogen, 13, in December 2019 before their new arrival came along this April.

The house was previously owned by Margaret and William Scott, Cheryl's grandparents, who both died a number of years ago.

"I'm convinced that the ghost was my gran or papa coming to visit Scott," Cheryl added.

"Everyone's got their own beliefs which is fine, but I do believe in the afterlife and ghosts.

"We never thought their house was haunted but maybe it is?"

With Scott sleeping soundly through the night and Robert on night shift as a night porter, Cheryl will be on lookout for any supernatural house guests as she heads for bed tonight.

"Who knows if they'll come back again," she added.

"I'm not scared, but it all was very strange."
