A Russian woman named Elena has created a blog containing photographs taken of the areas around Chernobyl, which she says are like ghost towns. The Independent did a feature on her last year and I was reminded of it while reading our feature today on the eve of the 19th anniversary of the nuclear reactor disaster.
Some bloggers believe Elena's blog was a hoax, but if so, it's a pretty elaborate one.
