Ghost of Tsushima film director says ‘we just want to do it right’

Chad Stahelski, director of the forthcoming Ghost of Tsushima  movie, is keen on doing the hit Playstation game justice.

Speaking with IGN, Stahelski claims that everyone working on the Ghost of Tsushima  film knows about the groans that typically accompany  bad video game adaptations.

“We just want to do it right,” Stahelski said. “You know how video game adaptions can go. So we’re taking our time and doing it right. We’re working very closely with the game developers to make sure we stick to what’s great about it.”

Stahelski went on to explain that the Ghost of Tsushima  movie is still very early in production, which the script isn’t complete yet. Though fans will “be very happy with what we’re working on,” Stahelski said.

Ghost of Tsushima  came out on the PS4 in 2020, then released on PS5 as Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut  earlier this year.

Getting video games to film adaptations right is tough, and the list of  good ones is relatively small. Uncharted, another Playstation game on the verge of becoming a movie,  isn’t garnering the warmest reception. Even the Mass Effect  TV series allegedly in the works  has some pretty harsh naysayers
