Ghost of infamous 'Green Lady' spotted wandering Dalkeith Country Park

Locals in Dalkeith have been debating whether an image captured of the Midlothian town's infamous ghost is in fact a snowman.

Dalkeith Palace is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman, a ‘Green Lady’ and one resident, Darren Fleming, believes he may have captured the eerie spirit on camera while passing through the country park.

Writing on a local Facebook group, he posted: "Was out in the country park a few weeks ago at around 10pm , spotted this figure standing near the church."

Some also believe that the ghost which allegedly haunts the park grounds is the spirit of a girl around eight-years-old called Anna, who fell out of one of the upstairs windows.

One member of the group wrote "It's the green lady mate, been kicking about the gaff for years."

Other members of local Facebook community group 'What's on in Dalkeith' were a little more sceptical of the image, with many joking that the mysterious figure is in fact just a snowman.

Another teased: "I've just locked ma front and back door cheers bud."

However, Darren responded that: "The figure seemed to just be standing staring at the church not moving at all, I went back the next night and it was no where to be seen."
