Former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn, charged with aggravated breach of trust in violation of the Companies Law, was granted bail for the second time Thursday.
Ghosn, 65, walked out of the Tokyo Detention House in the Kosuge district of Tokyo Thursday night after the Tokyo District Court rejected an appeal by prosecutors to reverse its decision to grant bail.
Ghosn was charged with suspected use of company funds for private purposes earlier this month, involving a Nissan-affiliated dealership in Oman, in the fourth indictment relating to his alleged financial misconduct.
Ghosn paid 500 million yen in bail. He paid 1 billion yen when he was released on bail for the first time last month.
