Convicted sexual abuser Ghislaine Maxwell has been moved to a low-security prison in Texas, where she now shares cell walls with fellow inmates Jen Shah and Elizabeth Holmes.
Maxwell — jailed for her involvement in the crimes of her associate and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein — was previously in a federal prison in Florida, but her lawyers have confirmed she was moved interstate to the minimum-security Bryan Federal Prison Camp, where she will continue serving her 20-year sentence.
That sentence was handed down in 2022, when Maxwell was convicted of conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors, including children as young as 14 years of age.

While Maxwell’s lawyers confirmed her transfer, they stopped short of revealing why exactly she had been moved to a lower-security prison than where she was previously kept.
The move means Maxwell now counts Shah and Holmes as fellow inmates.
Shah, known for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is currently serving a six-year-sentence in Byron Federal Prison after pleading guilty in 2023 to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection to a large-scale telemarketing scheme.
Holmes, meanwhile, is in the same prison on charges of intentionally misleading investors in her now-defunct blood testing company, Theranos. She was sentenced in 2022 and is serving 11 years for the crime.

Both cases captured the public imagination, with Shah’s playing out across two seasons of RHOSLC and Holmes becoming the subject of a TV dramatisation, The Dropout, starring Amanda Seyfried.
When news broke that they were sharing a prison, it was reported that Shah and Holmes had developed a friendship behind bars, with the latter attending Shah’s “Shah-mazing Abs” fitness classes alongside other inmates, according to Us Weekly.
Maxwell has received renewed public interest in the wake of the Donald Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein case.
Last month, it was revealed that Maxwell had spent two days answering questions about the case with the US Department of Justice, with Prince Andrew reportedly being name-checked and Trump later weighing up the possibility of a pardon for Maxwell.

Maxwell has appealed her conviction, and no decisions have been made as to whether she will cut a deal given her cooperation with authorities.
