Ghaziabad Weather Today (July 9): Orange alert issued as heavy rain disrupts city, schools shut; check key affected areas and forecast for the coming days

Ghaziabad witnessed heavy rainfall on thursday,, bringing relief from humid conditions but also causing waterlogging in several areas this morning. The IMD has issued an alert for more heavy showers, with thunderstorms and gusty winds likely to persist across the region today.

Ghaziabad schools closed

Schools in Ghaziabad have been shut due to heavy rainfall, with all institutions up to Class 12 ordered to remain closed on Thursday. The District Magistrate issued the directive as a precautionary step to ensure student safety amid continuous downpours across the city. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Friday, July 10: Mostly cloudy and humid, with a few thunderstorms likely, especially in the early hours.

Saturday, July 11: Very warm; cloudy skies in the morning followed by intervals of sunshine later in the day.

Sunday, July 12: Very warm and humid, with sunny spells mixed with occasional cloud cover.

Heavy Rain Alert Across Multiple UP Districts

For Thursday, the IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several districts including Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Bijnor, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Moradabad, Rampur, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur and Jalaun. These areas are likely to witness intense showers through the day. The weather department has also cautioned about thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in parts of the state and advised residents to remain alert during heavy rain spells.
